Electrical and Other Components
A battery pack’s electrical circuit contains many components (diodes, resistors, thermistors? to correctly channel and control the flow of current during charge and discharge, and to protect cells from overcharging, overdischarging and overheating. Each of these links in the chain has an important role to play in the pack’s performance- a malfunction of any one of them will mean a dead or erratically performing battery at best, and possible damage to your valuable equipment at worst.
GL Batteries battery packs only use consistently high quality components made by the industry leaders: Bourns, Vishay, Sea&Land, Maxim/Dallas, Seiko, Ricoh, Toshiba and so on. This “built-in?reliability means you can depend on your battery to operate correctly throughout its lifetime. All components used are equivalent or superior quality to those found in original manufacturer battery packs.
The other parts of the electrical circuit- wires, nickel strapping, printed circuit boards, electrical contacts, solder used in the connections- also play an important role in conducting and channeling power throughout the battery pack. Low cost, low grade parts may corrode or come apart after a period of usage. They increase a battery pack’s internal resistance, making it less able to conduct electricity efficiently from the cells to the device it is powering, and affecting a radio’s ability to transmit and receive.
In all these areas GL Batteries battery packs use the highest quality, lowest resistance options available, maximizing battery life and the power-supplying potential of the electrical cells.
